CLIENT: STRANGE HARVEST

THE BRIEF:

Murray Cowan a.k.a. Strange Harvest is one of South Africa’s leading mural artists. His business had grown organically from the striking beauty of his artwork all over the country, that had people sharing his Instagram profile far and wide.

While word-of-mouth was doing the trick, Murray wanted a digital platform that could showcase his work in a professional manner and give him some added credibility as a business owner.

OUR OBJECTIVES:

This website had to be the perfect reflection of Murray’s unique style and detailed work. Strange Harvest murals are known for being bright, bold and multi-coloured. We wanted to bring that feel into various elements, like the menu, that comes to life when you hover over each of the rainbow coloured menu items.

We contrasted the colours with a dark background and used strong, bold fonts to call out each section.

We wanted the website to promote play and higher levels of engagement.

THE OUTCOME

CORPORATE IDENTITY

The Strange Harvest website launch was extremely successful with organic views streaming in every day, conversion tags firing and an average user engagement time that definitely showed that we’d hit the mark!

The project pages show off project details in a playful and engaging way and the website was built for users to navigate through various artistic aspects of Strange Harvest – about the artist, his illustrations and graphic design, a digital gallery of his most recent murals and an Instagram widget for live updates as Murray posts throughout the week.
