Riley is highly organized, pays close attention to detail and hates bad grammar. A day doesn’t go by where she doesn’t dream of a good pizza or ground-breaking strategy.

Riley joined the team in March 2021 and has become a true Pink Soda ambassador, taking the lead in developing our own content (you can tell Riley’s work by the amazing digital marketing “dad jokes” and puns).

TELL US ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?

All I do is eat, eat, eat!! Just kidding… kind of 😉

I manage all of our client’s social media accounts. This encompasses everything from writing copy for social media posts, designing content, community management, creating ads across all platforms, and scheduling posts. If you follow our page on social media, you would see I like to waffle on sometimes, so blogs and mailers are also on my to-do list. I also do digital strategies for new, existing, and potential clients. Most importantly, I am the Pink Soda calendar and keep everyone on track.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR WORK LIGHTS A FLAME WITHIN YOU?

I am a creative through and through. I love creating work that makes people smile, laugh, think or say “that’s rad”. I believe that one of the most important things a brand needs to do is foster a relationship with its audience and create a community that makes them feel part of the brand, so being the link that makes this happen is such a rewarding feeling. Seeing people react to my work makes me feel like I have made an impact on their life, and that impact doesn’t have to be life-changing but if it made someone smile for even a second, that’s what keeps my flame burning strong!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AS A DIGITAL MARKETER?

My goals as a digital marketer are to make a difference in the world, big or small. I want to create campaigns that make people stop, talk about it and share it with those around them. I want to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Nike, Nando’s, and Adidas. Campaigns that people still speak of for years to come and that either make a purposeful, positive difference to the world or simply make people smile and laugh. More happiness is needed in the world and I want to be the girl to spread it.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE OF SOCIAL MEDIA LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

I see social media advertising moving from a ‘buy my product’ to a ‘get to know me’ space. Consumers are looking for brands they can relate to. People relate to people, so I see brands on social media moving to people-based content, showing their audience who is behind the brand and what made the brand what it is today. Brands will start to convince people to buy into the brand by letting people fall in love with their people. TikTok has taken the world by storm and some of us can sit watching for hours because we feel a connection to the people behind the screen and aren’t being directly sold to.
